Celebrating Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 550th Birthday

Once COVID restrictions were lifted, Sikhs from Harrow and the surrounding areas came together in a spirit of joy and gratitude to celebrate Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 550th Prakash Purab with a vibrant Mela at Pinner Village Gardens. This special gathering was a testament to our community’s resilience, unity, and unwavering devotion to Guru Nanak’s timeless teachings.

As part of the celebrations, we honoured the majestic oak trees that had been planted, symbolizing growth, strength, and the deep-rooted wisdom of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s message. The day began with a beautiful Shabad Kirtan and Ardaas, filling the air with spiritual harmony and collective gratitude.

The Mela continued with a lively atmosphere, offering fun and entertainment for all ages. Families and friends enjoyed traditional games, engaging activities for children and adults, and moments of togetherness that reinforced the values of community and Seva.

This memorable day reminded us of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings of unity, humility, and service to all. As we look back on this joyful occasion, we remain committed to keeping his message alive in our hearts and actions.
